A Vision of K-12 Students Today

  1. Jeff,
I had written a lot but it all go erased.

My objections with this films lack of vision, and that is what it is.

It starts out with kids in traditional desks. I can never get beyond that. Then it shows spoiled kids desiring entertainment. It moves on to blaming "teachers". It shows no control of any of the kids by parents. Worst of all it creates a beggar mentality amongst the children, the children appear to be brainwashed into that mentality by the author of the video. The author of the video seems to be demonstrating a fatalistic "vision" of the future. Then, he caps it off by throwing in ridiculous Chinese comparisons that are utterly meaningless. Where is the free spirit of the kids, where are the parental controls, and where are the private businesses that these kids should be developing. By the time they are 13 they should all have at least one business. And stop them from all the wasted time playing games and being entertained. I think maybe Wesch and Prensky don't get it either, they feed the beggar mentality, thus the kids end up corporate bailout bank beggars or on the street welfare beggars. Either way they rob us via taxes.
